"It's The Animals"

Program Overview
Most people have enjoyed wonderful experiences with their pet dog, cat or other animals. Medical and mental health professionals are aware of the positive therapeutic and soothing effects animals can have on patience. Clinical studies report that animals can contribute to physical health by lowering blood pressure and reducing anxiety. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy programs in hospitals find that animals can help motivate patients to exercise in ways designed to improve their motor skills.

The human-animal bond is used in mental health arenas to encourage and foster socialization and communication skills, stabilize emotions, brighten mood, increase ones self-control, address grief and loss issues, improve self-esteem and problem solving skills. Animal interaction in a therapeutic environment teaches understanding, compassion, responsibility and the beginnings of establishing trust. That's why we say... "It's The Animals".
